After more than 40 years pushing metal into stranger, sharper and more futuristic territory, Voïvod return with Symphonique, a special live release recorded with the Quebec Symphony Orchestra.
The album captures a 12-song, 73-minute best-of performance recorded live at the Grand Théâtre in Québec City, Canada. Rather than simply adding orchestral weight, Symphonique expands Voïvod's sci-fi metal architecture into something cinematic and fully immersive.
Angular riffs, off-world atmospheres and progressive metal tension are reworked with full symphonic arrangements, bringing a new scale to tracks including "Experiment", "The Unknown Knows", "The End Of Dormancy", "Into My Hypercube", "Nuclear War" and "Tribal Convictions". The set closes with Voïvod's symphonic take on Pink Floyd's "Astronomy Domine".
