The Strokes returned with their sophomore album Room on Fire in 2003. Produced by Gordon Raphael, the record is slightly smoother then the band's debut Is This It. The album features the singles "12:51", "Reptilia" and "The End Has No End". The second album after a smashing debut is always very tricky. The critics want to hear some evolution in sound, the audience wants the band to follow in the steps of the first opus.
