An instrumental funk album created under the theme of “music anyone can hum along to,” combining approachability with sophistication. By stripping away complex elements and focusing on simple, memorable melodies and tight arrangements, the album exudes a concentrated charm that stands in stark contrast to their previous work, Hold Your Horses.
Building on a foundation of respect for classic funk acts such as The Meters, Booker T. & The MG’s, and The JB’s, the band has established a unique groove cultivated over the past 20 years. With all four members involved in composition and production, this rich and fulfilling album showcases the new appeal of contemporary funk through their seamless playing and rich ensemble sound.
